Support Steve's Recovery: Build a Wheelchair Ramp

Donation protected
On August 22, 2024, my cousin Steve was riding his Harley home from work on a beautiful late summer evening. Before he could get home, tragedy struck in the form of a whitetail deer. In a blink of time, he hit the deer at highway speed.

Steve was unfortunately not wearing a helmet and sustained multiple injuries, causing him to be airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospital, where he stayed in ICU and Neuro floors, enduring multiple surgeries and procedures.

On November 5th, he was able to be discharged from the hospital to a rehab facility here in Iowa. The time frame for Steve to learn to walk again after such a traumatic brain injury is going to take time.

In order for him to enter his home with his loving wife Melissa and their fur babies, Steve would need to walk up some very steep steps to the doorway of his trailer, a feat for a healthy adult to do on a normal day.

With this money, we are hoping to fund a wheelchair ramp to allow him to come home in the future.
