Support Stewart Owen Dance After Hurricane Helene

Tax deductible
"The devastating impact of Hurricane Helene has forced us to cancel educational and performance programming for the fall, leaving our teachers and dancers without work or pay."

My name is Nick Kepley and I am the Managing Director of Stewart/Owen Dance. We are a hub for contemporary dance in Western North Carolina offering community dance classes for adults, and providing educational outreach programming and performances for public schools, YMCAs, and community organizations.

Many of you know our incredible husband-and-wife Co-Artistic Director team: Gavin Stewart and Vanessa Owen. Gavin and Vanessa are safe, but they are currently unable to leave Old Fort due to the impacts of Hurricane Helene.

S/O Dance provides more than 200 hours of joyful movement classes to adult dancers across WNC every year. The devastating impact of Hurricane Helene has forced us to cancel educational and performance programming for the fall, leaving our teachers and dancers without work or pay.

Your support provides:
  • 50% of our teachers anticipated October salary
  • Two weeks' salary for our professional dancers who are now without work for the month of October
