Support STL mom, wife hit by driver while biking

Late last month, St. Louis resident Hazel Jenkins was biking home from her new job at a local dialysis center and making a left turn in the Central West End when a driver hit her, severely injuring her. Hazel, who is married to fellow St. Louis BWorks staff member Quorey Jenkins, spent nearly a week in the hospital with a crushed ankle and broken pelvis. She has a long road to recovery ahead, and is losing out on much-needed income in the meantime.

Hazel, Quorey and young son Marshall all depend on bicycles as transportation to their jobs and school here in St. Louis. And last week, someone stole both of the family’s e-bikes (they do not drive or own a car). On top of everything else right now, this was a big blow.

Our team at BWorks is heartbroken for these sweet friends of ours. Quorey has been a critical member of our crew on both the bike and computer side of our operations for many years, and Hazel is a new American (the couple married in early 2022). We’re eager to do all we can to support the Jenkins family as they rebuild their lives amid multiple challenges right now.

The BWorks team can’t do it alone, and so we are hereby asking for the larger community’s help as well. Please consider contributing to this fund to help the Jenkins family replace major lost income as well as deal with medical bills and replacing stolen bikes.
