Support StokedStock's Fight Against Unfair Claims

Thank you all for the support!!!

Here is what I shared with the community for those unaware:

Frustration is a word that comes to mind.

11/5/2022 was the first date I took a risk and bought 100 V2's to sell to the community.

11/7/2022 was the date of my first OFFICIAL business sale by none other than Stanley Shaw.

Steve Schoonmaker was my first bulk purchaser of sensors.

Hell, I think at some point I even sent Jeff Mccosker a cringe-worthy video of me installing one of my sensors onto their Kush pads!

Before 11/7/2022, I had invested a significant amount of my personal money and time designing the stoked sensors. I worked with the community through the Discord channels and went through several iterations before the V2's ever came to light.
Auden Huff and Brody Port and many more helped me test sensors in the very early days of the V1 that never saw the light of day but evolved into the V2's.

Throughout the years, V2's eventually resulted in V3's, which resulted in a Cease and Desist from Future Motion and paved the path to the infamous V4's. This evolution came from the feedback I received from the community, including Matt Weber, the Oak City Onewheel crew, Mark A. Grzyb, Jason Stone, and Evan Hoke.

Exile began to sell sensors later than 11/7/2022. If I recall correctly, Greg had a V2 sensor that I had sent him in the spirit of cooperation before 12/16/2022.

11/27/2024 - Today I learned that one of my vendors received a legal letter from Greg Hilton claiming that my V4 sensor is "similar" to the sensor Exile is selling. Specifically, U.S. Patent Application Publication No. 2024/0375609. The letter continues to state that it is notifying the vendor that the patent has been publicized and offering the vendor the option to take on a license under Greg Hilton's patent for the purposes of selling the Stoked Stock V4 sensor.

The fact that Exile believes that my sensor falls under his patent has left me speechless. It's taken me over 2 hours to write this post as I try to put the pieces together. It's baffling that someone who is selling a dual-region sensor as a "Matrix Array," files a "Matrix Array" patent, then comes back to claim that my dual-region sensor is also a "Matrix Array" simply baffles me.

I'm going to be honest with everyone, these last several months have been testing my patience, and for the sake of the community, I've kept quiet, I've played nice, and I chose to ignore things. My vendors and I have been harassed, lied to, and I've had a smear campaign kicked off against me since the Exile sensors hit the market. I chucked all of that to aggressive marketing. I thought that I wouldn't need to say a word as the quality and performance of my sensors would speak for themselves and my reputation in the community would be enough to keep the house of cards together.

I was wrong. Now that attorneys are involved, I understand now that this was much more than aggressive marketing - this was a level of scheming and defamation campaign in the making that is now leading up to my vendors receiving letters from attorneys representing Greg Hilton against my sensors.

I learned my lesson, and I'm simply not going to tolerate the harassment and bullying anymore. The harassment, the bullying, the false advertising, and the misinformation have to stop and will stop.

I'll end things on a positive tone. In preparation for what's to come, I've created discount code: ForStokedStock, which will give everyone 50% off on all sensor orders. This will allow me to decrease inventory and pay for any kind of legal fees that are in my future.

Thank you all for the support. I really, truly appreciate everyone here, and if I didn't tag you - it's not on purpose; I'm just not in a good headspace at the moment.

Since this post, a few things have been revealed.

As of 11/28, Greg has sent out a notice to Nexus, Tech Rails, and 1 Wheel Parts. Neither I nor StokedStock has received a notice.

On 11/28, Greg offered me the option to take down the social media posts, and in exchange, I would get to pay a 35% license fee and proposed that I should increase my sensor prices by 35% to pass the license fee on to the consumers in the spirit of partnership. I countered that if he truly wanted a partnership, I wouldn’t be opposed to my name being added to his patent and that I would help him refine his patent as well as add additional IP of my own pertaining to modular sensors. Greg declined and preferred I pay a licensing fee. No agreement has been reached yet.

Greg claims the attorney made an error and states that the notice was supposed to be for the V5 sensor instead of the V4.

My opinion - I accept that mistakes can happen, but a few things don’t add up here. The vendor who was sent a notice was not and is not selling the V5. The V5’s have not hit the market yet, so I’m not sure where the claim is coming from.

Greg has claimed that StokedStock and/or Nexus have copied his product 2 weeks after he released his.

My side of the story - I have evidence of the Hex sensor being developed as early as late November/early October 2022. My sensor is designed to be cuttable, unlike the Exile sensor, as the isolated zones were a core feature of this sensor.

as a result of all of this - I’ve decided to stand up against the harassment and bullying and will be legally preparing to defend my company, my IP, and myself which requires a substantial amount of capital. I’ve raised enough to hire an attorney on a retainer but I need help from everyone to continue paying the attorney once the retainer is fully used up.

Thank you everyone for your support and your help and I’M SORRY that the community has to deal with me alongside me.
