Help "Storyland: The Bronx Book Haven" Bring Literacy to Life in the Bronx! ✨
Our vision is to see children grow through reading one dope book at a time.
We are dedicated to increasing literacy levels and fostering a love for reading in The Bronx. With your help, we believe families will find new ways to engage with books that stimulate the imagination and bring rich literacy discussions into their homes.
As the first-ever children's book lounge and literary hub in the Bronx, we are our asking for a one time gofundme donation to sustain the following program for the next six months:
Class Trip Featuring an Independent Author Program in partnership with K-12 schools in The Bronx.
The program elements:
- 40-50 students
- Students meet and interact with an independent author. All children receive an autographed complimentary copy of the book.
- All children engage in mindfulness and/or movement with an experienced facilitator
- Break out session including independent reading, conversation, or activity related to the book
- Mic time to discuss the experience during the break out session
- A healthy lunch supporting a local restaurant
Storyland is breaking down barriers to literacy and bringing families from womb to cradle and cradle to career.
Located at the The Bronx Terminal Market, across the Street from Mill Pond Park which is adjacent to the Harlem River, Storyland is positioned in a space where everyone can discover the joy of books surrounded by natural elements.
