Support Stowe Artists After Festival Disaster
Donation protected
The 2024 Stowe Foliage Arts Festival in Stowe, Vermont was off to an amazing start for one day on Friday, October 11, when, early Saturday morning, high winds brought down the big tent that housed the beautiful works of 80+ artists. The poles and infrastructure of this enormous tent crashed down upon and crushed the majority of the artistic pieces, as well as the booth setups (including all the individual tents and sides and lighting) of all the artists. Cleanup lasted for 2 more days. There were 80 ADDITIONAL participants in other spaces - some of whom sustained wind damage but ALL of whom suffered financially by the resulting cancellation of the show on Saturday and Sunday. These were the two busiest days and would have drawn thousands of patrons to support their work.
We, the organizers, are earnestly requesting your donations so that we may distribute them equally among all 160 participants in the show, ALL of whom suffered losses financially -- not only at this event but also for shows they had planned for the upcoming weeks. It is really not possible to add up the value of their losses.
Thank you for your consideration and concern for the hardworking entrepreneurs who make a livelihood with their Art. For their small businesses, they are their own makers and accountants and they carry their storefronts around the country in the backs of vans and trailers to make a living. They are the essence of "Made in the USA" and their work is important to all of us. Thank you for helping with your donations!
