Support Student Thesis Short-Film: Love.exe
Donation protected
Love.exe is a student short film that is being produced at Boston University. For our cinematographer, Vinny Sep, this is his senior thesis film, so we are all trying our hardest to produce a short that all of the core creative minds are proud of. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity presented by the university to produce this short film; however, due to the strong ambitious vision behind the film, we are going to need a strong financial foundation to create it. We appreciate any and all support -- even if not financial, then through spreading word of the film to your friends and family!

In a world where brain chips can simulate any experience, a heartbroken man runs a program designed for love, forcing him to question whether real connection can ever be artificially created.
Synopsis
In a near-future world where AI can simulate emotions and experiences, Silas, a heartbroken man, uses his Synthetica (a brain chip) in an attempt to move on from his ex, Eris. When he installs a mysterious program called Love.exe, an AI-generated companion appears, promising to give him the love he lost. But as the simulation blurs the line between reality and illusion, Silas is forced to question everything he knows about love, memory, and existence itself. Is Eris truly gone, or has technology found a way to bring her back?
Where does your money go?
Food
One of the things that eats into the film budget the quickest is meals. Since student productions typically do not pay our cast or crew, instead we provide meals to compensate for people who volunteer to help on our projects. We want to prioritize this in order to make sure that our crew is able to stay healthy and nourished. As a result, the crew can stay awake and alert while on set to make sure they're being safe while having fun making a movie!
Location
We would like to shoot in a location that is off-campus so we can rent out a space that matches the director's and cinematographer's vision. As you could imagine, that can also get quite expensive, however, it allows for us to shoot in a space that feels more realistic to the protagonist -- a place that seems "lived in," but not in the way a student dorm looks.
Equipment
Naturally, any financial support of the film will also go towards equipment. Being that it is a senior thesis film, we want to make sure we're using some of the best equipment possible to produce the best story possible. Unfortunately, BU doesn't have a great selection of equipment that is readily available and most students have to resort to renting equipment from a rental house or buying it entirely. Donations would help alleviate the cost of that for the film.
Incentives!
We truly appreciate any and all donations! So much so, we have different tiers of incentives based on how much financial support you provide for our film.
$1+ - Special thanks in the credit of the film and a personalized thank you note
$25+ - Access to exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and photography during our shoot process + all prior incentives!
$50+ - Early access of the film and and an annotated version of the screenplay + all prior incentives!
$100+ - Executive producer credit on the film + all prior incentives!
