Athlete Mental Health Awareness

Hello, I am Kiele Sanchez, a senior at University High School in Greeley, Colorado. I have been an athlete all of my life, I started playing soccer when I was 9 years old and just recently committed to Clarke University to continue playing in college. In my soccer career, I have learned a lot about mental health whether that comes from pressure or injury. In my 8th grade year, I had knee surgery and through that time of recovery I struggled a lot mentally and that is why I decided to make my senior project based on awareness for mental health surrounding athletes. For this project I plan on raising and donating money to a Non-profit foundation called The Hidden Opponent. I hope for my project to raise awareness of the importance of understanding mental health for athletes no matter age or level.
