Support Schools in Benin, West Africa
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Lisa Thompson. Many decades ago, I was a Peace Corps teacher in a village in Benin, West Africa. I was reunited through social media with a former student who now runs a small educational nonprofit there. Over the past four years through the generosity of my friends and family, we have been able to complete a variety of requested projects in 10 schools (7 elementary and 3 secondary schools). Funds have been used for classroom and desk repair, computer installation, water and sanitation projects, purchase of educational materials, payment of student fees and support of the school lunch program. This year we hope to continue our commitment to these schools and expand into others. Even a small contribution can make a big difference to these students. Below are photos of some of the projects:
Donated math materials and supplies for lunch program.
Purchase of routers, fans and printer allowed this school to create a computer lab from donated computers.
Purchase of a solar pump and materials for a hand-washing station allowed students access to clean water at school.
Broken desks are repaired and reinforced for student use.
