Who are Students4Climate Justice ?

We are a students movement from Uganda deeply concerned about the ecological and climate change the world is facing. We are young people who care about our future, parents defending their children, grandparents rebelling for life.

Why do we exist?

A long history of burning fossil fuels and land exploitation has led us to worsening climate impacts - recurring environmental disasters, floods, droughts, fires, and crop failures globally. In Uganda Students4Climate Justice aims to rally a critical mass of young people to protect their communities and our climate through non - violent resistance.

What we do?

We are advocating for a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty, this is a proposal to rapidly start the phaseout of fossil fuels.

Our major aim is to put an end to the expansion of fossil fuel production, phasing out existing fossil fuel production fairly and a globally just transition to clean energy systems.

The aim is to focus at universities and calling on leaders to embrace the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Our work relies on the generosity of our supporters and donors. Your donations will directly help us do the following activities effectively;

- putting pressure on the vice chancellors of the Universities to address the Fossil Fuel Treaty petition.

- ⁠Massively mobilize & recruit students and activists from different universities to join us .

- Perform general assemblies and inform students and communities about risks of the Fossil Fuels.

- Mass leafleting on streets

- Frequent training sessions of student activists

- Creative actions on University cultural gallers

- Embrassing the Fossil Fuel Treaty on social media platforms.

- Organizing meetings with students forums

- Presenting a students signed petition to the vice chancellor calling to address the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty

- Organizing peacefully protests and disruptions of lectures in Universities to express our need for the Fossil Fuel Treaty.

All donations will be used to:

organise more non-violent direct actions at universities and oil pipeline EACOP affected communities.

Donations are received through Congo Basin Alliance, our fiscal sponsor.

We follow Students4Climate Justice donor due diligence guidelines when looking for and receiving financial support from the prospective donors. We won’t accept money from funders which contradict our theory of change, including fossil fuel companies, pharmaceutical companies, and political parties.
