Support Sue Krauss's Recovery At Home

I am writing this to ask anyone that is able to please help out my friend Susan (Sue) Krauss.

Sue has dealt with health issues most of her life, as her friends and family know. She was diagnosed with an advanced form of scoliosis in her early teens, which has deteriorated her spine. About 6 months ago, she was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.

Two weeks ago, she started experiencing shortness of breath, even when attempting the simplest of tasks. After several trips to the hospital and a lot of testing, Sue was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF). Understandably, that diagnosis has terrified her. She wants to be able to live as long and as healthily as possible.

Sue has been in a transitional rehab facility for several weeks now, learning how to walk (again, for the third time…she had to relearn also in her teens). She’s been building up strength and working very hard towards getting back to at least the level of health she was at before this diagnosis. Sue is being discharged very soon (insurance reasons, rather than readiness).

One of the things that has been helping her tremendously at the rehab center is a machine called the Sara Lift. It can lift her up and wheel her to wherever she needs to sit. Having one of these machines at home would make her recovery exponentially easier.

However, these machines are quite expensive. Sue and her husband, Dave, are just not able to afford to buy one on their own. It would cost them $6,199.78.
