Support Sunnyvale's Resilient Recovery Efforts

I’m Abbie from Marion NC, a member of Sunnyvale Baptist Church, and I’ve created this campaign for relief efforts to rebuild our church. All donations will be directly deposited to Sunnyvale Baptist Church

For over 100 years Sunnyvale Baptist Church has been the heart of the Buck Creek Community, serving its families and neighbors with love and grace. Sunnyvale sustained significant damage from the floodwaters of Hurricane Helene, washing away and destroying most of the church’s foundation. However, despite suffering the damage it did, the church still stands and has become a pillar of hope for those affected by the tragedy in Western North Carolina.

Our pastor and several members were able to meet with a local professional this Sunday and we are hopeful to rebuild. Nothing is certain at this point, approvals and county inspections will be needed. Road and bridge conditions and continued power outage are hindering progress. However we are opening fundraising at this time in response to the many offers to help us rebuild our “pretty white chapel in the mountains.” Please know in the event any funds cannot be used directly for the church rebuilding, they will be used in our community.

“Little is much when God is in it”, and the works of Sunnyvale Baptist Church is the very epitome of that saying.
