Support Suzy Benedetti's Fight Against Cancer

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

We are reaching out to you today to ask for your support for our beloved Suzy Benedetti.

Suzy has been battling metastatic breast cancer with remarkable strength and resilience since her recurrence in February 2024. That is when PET CT imaging revealed a more extensive spread than we ever imagined and leading to a diagnosis of Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer due to lesions in the C1, C4, T4, L4, L5 vertebrae, the left sacrum, the posterior iliac bones, and the right ischium, which were at high risk for fractures. The imaging also confirmed a fracture in the left sacrum. Additionally, Suzy has innumerable small lesions in her liver, further complicating her condition and side effects.

The doctors at Tennessee Cancer immediately started Suzy on a path including 2 weeks of focused radiation and a newly approved Chemotherapy called Enhertu administered every 21 days. This combination has improved Suzy’s quality of life greatly and we have seen her progress from experiencing debilitating pain and being wheelchair bound to being able to walk and have life outside of our home to spend time with her family.

Suzy is a loving mother, mother-in-law, devoted wife, and cherished friend to many. She has always been a beacon of light and positivity, touching the lives of everyone around her with her kindness, compassion, and unwavering optimism. Even in the face of this daunting illness, she remains a source of inspiration to us all. Suzy and the family had an amazing 17 months of remission from her first battle with Breast Cancer. Since this recurrence in Feb, Suzy has continued to work full time, be as involved with the boys and Tony as much as possible. In January of this year Suzy and Tony delivered their first Power Lift Chair to another Breast Cancer Warrior in the community. This is how loving Suzy is to others, often giving far more than she could ever ask to receive.

Metastatic breast cancer is a formidable adversary, requiring advanced treatments and therapies. Suzy has undergone 7 rounds of traditional treatments, but we are evaluating additional innovative and promising therapies that are not fully covered by insurance. These treatments hold the potential to significantly improve her quality of life and extend her time with us.
