Support Sydney and Kids After Tragic Loss
Donation protected
On January 23, 2025, the unimaginable happened to a young family in Eastern North Carolina. Mike Joyner, age 24, died after being struck by a vehicle in rural Edgecombe County. His memorial service will be February 1, 2025, in Nashville, NC. I have included a link to his obituary below.
In addition to his parents, sisters, brothers, and extended family, Mikey leaves behind his fiancée, Sydney Daughtridge, and their two young children, Magnolia (3) and Axel (2). Like many young people, Mikey did not have life insurance. He left behind a family that loved him very much and depended on him.
This entire family’s life changed in an instant. Although the rest of the family feels the pain all too deeply, Maggie and Axel are too young to even understand that their lives just changed forever. Sydney is a wonderful young lady who works very hard to support her children. Moving forward after the death of her love, she will need support - emotionally, spiritually, and yes, financially.
Although I am not a blood relative, I started this fundraiser because Sydney has long been like a daughter to me, a sister to my daughter, and another granddaughter to my parents. She has been a great friend to my daughter since childhood, and has gone on summer vacations with my family many times.
I hope that you can find it in your heart to help her in this time of greatest need. I have worried about her and the family so much since I heard the tragic news. I felt so helpless, and realized after a few days that this is what I could do to help. (I do have her permission for this)
Sydney, all of us in the Vickers Family love you SO much.
Love,
Brandon (a.k.a. “DJ”)
