Support Sydney to See the Future

Hi, my name is Sydney, I am 19 years old, the daughter of a firefighter and a teacher. I am in my second year of college majoring in animal science. My goal since I was little is to become a veterinarian, however, due to some recent circumstances this could be delayed. I am asking for your help and support to continue to reach my goal.

I have always loved animals and have a chihuahua named Taco and a parakeet named Easter but my best friend has always been my horse, Missy. Missy and I were the same age and grew up together. My earliest memory of her is riding her (my mom was leading us) through the pine trees near our home. We learned to ride together, we learned to trust each other. My senior pictures were of Missy and I, we were inseparable. Until a week ago...

Missy picked up a bacteria that quickly made her very ill. An emergency visit to the local vet, a trip to Colorado State University, and an emergency surgery followed. Everything was looking up and I expected to bring her home today (Sunday, 11/5). Yesterday she had a severe reaction to the antibiotics she was given after surgery and passed away this morning after a tearful goodbye.

This experience has shown me just how important veterinary medicine is; I'm looking forward to helping others through some of the worst times in their lives. Unfortunately, this experience has also used all the funds I was saving to continue at the University of Wyoming, plus quite a bit more, which I have had to borrow. I am asking for your support, your prayers, and your help as I persevere to reach my goal of being there for the next girl and her best friend.

The cost of Missy's care at Colorado State University was over $17,000. Please help me pay this off so I can continue in my education.
