Support Sydney's Chiari Awareness Mission

Sydney who was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation Type 1 in February of 2021. She was diagnosed with scoliosis in December of 2020 and after a very long MRI I was informed that she has fluid on her spine and has Chiari Malformation Type 1. I was shocked when they said she would have to have brain surgery. The best way to understand it is that her brain is too big for her skull. The Doctor told us that the brain surgery will to create more space for the brain and spinal cord so fluid can flow like it supposed to. On March 10th 2021 they made an insertion in the back of her neck and head, cut out part of her skull and shrunk the tonsils of her brain.

After facing such a big scare, learning more about the Chiari community and seeing what a warrior my daughter was we decided to start Chiari’s Little Warriors. Learning that there is no cure for Chiari and that it affects 1 in 1000 people we want to raise awareness.

We decided to team up with Conquer Chiari and host our 2nd annual Conquer Chiari Walk Across America event.

One of the major obstacles that Chiari patient’s face is that it seems like no one has heard of the conditions. It’s time to raise our voices, make people aware and let Chiari be heard! Our goal is to bring awareness to everyone that attends our event.

Will be accepting donations to be donated to ConquerChiari.org and the 501-C Chiari’s Little Warriors that was opened 6/12/2023 on behalf of Sydney.
