Help John Lee's Widow with Funeral Costs and her cancer bill
Donation protected
John Lee's life partner, Sylvia Moroyoqui was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and recently underwent surgery. Around the same time, John received a diagnosis of a rare form of leukemia and tragically passed away suddenly in the hospital on October 17, 2024. While Sylvia is recovering at home after a successful operation, she now faces the significant burden of managing medical and household bills on her own. Sylvia has 6 months of chemotherapy and radiation after the chemo!
John was a staunch cannabis advocate in California, leading the signature gathering campaign for the Marijuana Legalization and Control Act of 2014, which was the best-funded of four campaigns that year. Attorney General Kamala Harris said that MCLR would, “Reduce costs potentially exceeding one hundred million dollars ($100,000,000) annually to state and local governments,” related to enforcing certain marijuana-related offenses, handling the related criminal cases in the court system, and incarcerating marijuana offenders. Harris also reported MCLR would add “A few hundred million dollars annually” from additional tax revenues. Additionally, MCLR stood to create thousands of jobs in California. John also headed The Silicon Valley Cannabis Coalition and was the Director of The Silicon Valley Cannabis Coalition, Americans for Policy Reform (AFPR).
The current atmosphere of legal cannabis in California was due to the efforts of John Lee and his associates.
We are fundraising to help Sylvia manage the significant burden of medical and household bills on her own.
