Symphony’s Recovery and Medical Expenses support
Donation protected
On Monday 12/12/22, Symphony was hit by a distracted driver while walking home from school. According to the detectives, there was no evidence of the driver braking. She was hit a full force, at least 45 miles an hour. She was rushed to Harborview with multiple injuries, and we are so grateful, she is still with us to make many more years and years worth of memories. She is a fighter and her little body took a real beating.
She sustained 2 broken legs, a broken knee, a broken pelvis, broke her jaw in multiple places, 2 partially collapsed lungs, she bit completely through her tongue, a 2 inch laceration to her lip and cheek with some temporary facial paralysis, and another gash on her chin, and possibly a concussion. Luckily, no major head or spinal injuries. Although it’s a long road, all her wounds will heal in time.
On Tuesday 12/13, she underwent a 7 hour surgery to repair her broken legs, and she will have at least one more surgery tomorrow to fix her broken knee. She will endure months of intense therapy. She will need a special diet due to her inability to chew for 6-8 weeks.
As her mom, I don’t want to leave her side, I will have to take over weeks if not months from work, there will likely be hundreds of thousands in medical bills and lots of extra expenses, including even little things like hospital parking charges and therapy copays.
Symphony is already missing her school, her friends, her family and her extracurricular activities. She was active in school as the 8th grade ASB Vice-President, a member of orchestra, and played basketball and volleyball.
We would appreciate any support you can offer, if you cannot support financially she could use everyones prayers, please pass this along, the more prayers the better. Thanks for everyone’s support.
