Support Taine Through Ongoing Cancer Treatment

Our young family member, Taine, was first diagnosed with cancer 4 years ago, at just 20 years old. Since an initial diagnosis of Hodgkins Lymphoma, he's endured various rounds of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, stem cell harvesting & transplant, testing & re-testing. The cancer has proved resistant to treatments so far, & further tests resulted in a new diagnosis of a rare, indolent type of Lymphoma that is only able to be managed through his life. After all he's already been through, this has been a huge blow.

A passion for helping others and having a positive impact in his community, has propelled Taine into studying towards a Bachelor of Health Science, while also employed as an Indigenous Mental Health Worker.

However, treatment has caused several interruptions to his studies & life, while he's had to travel from regional NSW to Sydney for treatments, staying there for long periods of time.

Coming from a humble background, Taine has been supporting himself since leaving school and home, and throughout his studies.

He's currently (November 2024) in Sydney again for treatment, which is proving an even more massive challenge than previous rounds & he is very unwell. He has an infection & various other side effects forcing him to be isolated in hospital & making him miserable.

Taine really needs support to enable him to cover costs while unable to work, & to be able to concentrate on healing, unimpeded by financial worries. He also mentioned recently that when he's feeling well enough, he'd love to take a holiday away somewhere - something he's never really had. It's not much to ask. And we think he deserves to feel held & supported when he needs it most.
