Support Tassiana & Jewel Survive
Donation protected
Today (the day this thing launches), August 11th, is Tassiana's birthday and in exactly one month so is Jewel's birthday, September 11th. For the next few months we will be fundraising to purchase our own homes. If you met us via social media then you know we dedicate our lives to the holistic well-being of all Black people. We do this by centering the healing and preventative care of our most marginalized: disabled, (and/or) trans/gnc/non-binary people, and/or LGBQIA+ folks! Between us we have over 30 years of movement work, over 30 years of pouring into community and now, we are asking for community to pour into us!
We know a million seems like a lot but we aren't asking you for the whole thing (unless you have it), just whatever you have to spare whether that's $5 or $800,000. We can't do this without you.
If you dont have funds to support, that's okay boo!
You can post this multiple times until we reach our goal. Post on social media, send to organizations, tag wealthy folks, send to your friends and family.
If you have a home you would like to donate please let us know!!
MORE ABOUT TASSIANA:
Hey loved one! My name is Tassiana Willis! Born and raised in (pre-gentrified) San Francisco, CA (Frisco) and Oakland, CA (The Town), I like to call myself the Bay Bridge for how often I traveled between the cities. I am a philosopher, educator, community organizer, facilitator, consultant and artist. Im constantly redistributing resources, developing educational materials, teaching the youth, pushing individuals and collectives to grow, and pulling Black, queer, non-binary, gender variant, gender queer, & intersex people to the center. Queer Church Head Bishop, believer in abundance, style icon, celestial singer, and radical visionary - continually dreaming up liberatory spaces and futures. I regularly take to IG Live with the fiercest love and sharpest analysis!

WHAT THIS FUNDRAISER MEANS TO ME:
This fundraiser is URGENT for two reasons.
1) Full transparency, I am currently homeless and Im immunocompromised. As an immunocompromised person it imperative I have thaThere has not been one place that Ive lived where I didn't experience some form of abuse. I need my own home y'all so I can create a space that no one can take away from me. I want paint the walls and decorate. I want a safe space for my siblings and community to visit me. (When its safe to.) I want to buy furniture and beds made for fat bodies. I want to not worry about looking for housing again in a year. I want peace, family. I need it, now. My mental health depends on it. If we are able to meet the goal in two months I could have keys to my home before the year is over.
2) I am starting my own Nonprofit! I have had the worst experiences in the nonprofit industrial complex! I have watched white people profit off the pain and subjugation of Black folks of all ages. Their boards are filled with white people or ran by white folk. As gnc, fat, disabled, queer, person of trans experience, I center that in my pedagogy. I believe in thriveable wages. I believe that abundance and queerness as framework will lead to liberation of marginalized people. Supporting me in inherently anti-capitalist, anti-racist, anti-oppressive. Link to website soon come!!
If you would like to support me immediately:
1) I need a place to stay for the few months we fundraise!
a. (If you have a space in California, New Orleans or Atlanta I can stay for the next 2/3 months please reach out. )
b. The other option is me subletting a place until our goal is met and you can donate to me personally via Venmo: @GalaxSea, Cashapp: $GalaxSea, PayPal: GalaxSeas. ( Subletting in my area is about 1,300 a month!)
2) Follow me on IG
a.@TheChubbyGoddess for educational materials, political commentary, and more!
b. @HopelessAromantic for love, relationship and sex education centering aromantic and asexual folks!

MORE ABOUT JEWEL:
I was born and raised in Brooklyn, East New York by a Haitian single Mother. I am a Black Queer abolitionist and freedom fighting Femme for Black lives. A Social Justice Organizer for the rights of Black women, girls, femmes and for the transgender and gender non-conforming community. I own an event planning business, Jewel The Gem Productions, that hosts my talk show and produces community spaces that center Black Joy. I have been recognized from BET to NYU for my dynamic work as a leader. As a multi-awarded speaker and educator who values the healing that comes with being vulnerable to my experiences as an Intimate Queer Partner Violence Survivor, my life’s mission is to amplify the voices of those who are silenced and support them on their journey to resilience.
WHAT THIS FUNDRAISER MEANS TO ME:
I was so honored to be the first Black Director of Programs at the Center for Anti-Violence Education but unfortunately, I have endured so much racially fueled professional abuse that I recently had to take a leave of absence and plan on leaving my job as soon as possible!
As a first generation Haitian woman, owning a home for me means breaking generational curses that have led women to rely on (often) toxic romantic partnerships for stable housing. Even now, my current apartment holds traumatic memories that make it almost impossible to feel safe or comfortable. I deserve, for all the ways I have put my life on the line for Black liberation, to have a place surrounded by nature for me come home to. The support from this fundraiser will allow me to leave my job, relocate to purchase a home, and sustain myself as I invest my energy into my businesses that directly serve the Black community!
If you would like to support my immediate needs, you can:
1) Donate directly to me: Venmo: @Jewel-Cadet
