Support for the family of Taylor Binnington – sustainable development champion

On March 8, 2025, the global sustainability community suffered a heavy loss when Taylor Binnington and his 4-month-old son, Parry, died in a car crash in Rockingham, Vermont. His wife Eve and 3-year-old son Ash were also in the car, and Eve was badly injured.

An unflagging champion for sustainable development, Taylor dedicated his career to helping lower-income countries and US states create effective, just, and practical climate and energy policies. He was beloved by his colleagues at the Stockholm Environment Institute and hundreds of partners, students, and collaborators around the world.

His death is an immense blow to the cause of sustainability, but even more so to his family, particularly Ash who will now grow up without a father and a brother. In the wake of this tragedy, we are coming together to offer financial support to Eve and Ash – to help them as they get back on their feet and to build a fund for Ash’s education. Please join us.
