Support Teal Cohen's Olympic Journey

Hello,
We are a group of Hockaday Alumnae who are thrilled that Teal Cohen Class of 2017 is the very first Hockaday Athlete to represent Team USA at the Olympic Games.
Ixchel McKinnie, Class of 1986 and a rower since 2017 and Sara Speer Selber, Class of 1975 and a year one Title IX athlete at Tulane were inspired by a member of the Class of 1976. This alumna, who has chosen to remain anonymous, saw the announcement and reached out to share her idea of supporting Ms. Cohen in this remarkable endeavor.
Many top athletes have graduated from The Hockaday School in Dallas and continued their journey in universities across the country and around the world. Teal is the first athlete in the history of the school who will compete in the Olympics for Team USA. Her sport is the Women's 4x Rowing. (And as a fun note - she works part time in Communications Strategy for an Austin based company called Crew!)
Teal has a remarkable rowing record and exudes all that Ms. Hockaday envisioned for her students. She overcame a terrible case of COVID as well as two cracked ribs and her persistence won! She is humble and so grateful to know that the Hockaday Alumnae wish to support her journey. She represents the best of the Four Cornerstones, Character, Courtesy, Scholarship and Athletics.
Being an Olympic Athlete is not only a grueling physical, mental and emotional journey, but the financial burden can be difficult. As such, we hope that you might consider a gift of any size. The fact that the alumnae care was absolutely overwhelming to Teal. She will be using these funds to cover her expenses while training in Princeton, New Jersey approximately 30 hours a week. Certainly the funds are helpful, but just knowing Team Daisy is behind this athlete will mean everything.
One last request, if you choose to share this GoFundMe, we kindly request that it is only shared within the Hockaday Community.
Thank you in advance,
Fans of Teal!
