Help Our Friends – The Sims Family – Rebuild After The Eaton Fire

We are caring friends of the Sims Family....Ed, Mariela and Jeannette from the community of Pasadena.

Everyone is devastated by the tremendous loss sustained by so many people in the Eaton (and other) fires. We all want to help everyone, and we start with our tremendous friends, the Sims Family of Altadena. Antyone, Monique, Sidney and Savannah lost their home and everything in it on Tuesday night. The good news is that they are fine, and friends and family have offered what they can. They are safe, which is first and foremost the most important issue.

Antyone is a career coach and a teacher in the Arcadia Unified School District. Monique has been a Tournament of Roses staff member for more than 20 years and is on the team that supports sponsor and partner relationships. You will always see both girls with Monique at the end of the year, assisting Mom. Monique is a friend to all who know and work with her. If any of us were in the same spot, she and Antyone would be the ones writing this plea for help. Sidney and Savannah are both Spanish immersion students in the Pasadena Unified School District as well as amazing softball athletes. They are both the best kids you can imagine. Sadly, they also have several classmates who have lost their homes as well.

Our friendship trio (Ed Corey, Mariela Spillari and Jeannette Collier) are simply the voices for so many people who have asked, “How can we help?” and “What can we do?”. We, along with many others, will be helping in any way we can without hesitation. We know there are many people who need help, and we thank anyone who can help our friends. Everyone feels helpless – and it is understandable. This is a tragedy of epic proportions, and this is the time that friends and friends of friends help. Rest assured that all funds raised in this campaign will be used directly to assist the Sims Family with those items that are of immediate need. Included in this will be food, clothing and personal items. Mariela and Jeannette are planning a shopping trip for the girls so they may choose how to replace what they have lost.
