Support Teighlor Payne's Recovery Journey

Hello there. My name is Melissa Stortz, and this is my daughter, Teighlor Payne. My family and close friends are aware of the vicious attack that Teighlor fell victim to recently. My daughter was assaulted by a disturbed, homeless man in downtown St. Louis, Mo on January 25th. He beat her and left her to die, but thankfully she survived. Sadly, her left eye was destroyed. The surgeon could not save it. She also has numerous facial fractures that haven't been repaired yet. I'm doing everything I can to keep Teighlor comfortable while she recovers at her home in St. Louis. I wanted to bring her home with me, but she insisted that her home is where she needs to be. She has everything there that is necessary to recuperate. She also has pets that need tended to. Teighlor's doctors are all located in St. Louis as well. I'll be taking her to her doctor appointments. She obviously can't return to work for a long while. That's poses a huge problem as far as paying for her rent and utility bills. I'm helping as much as I can, but it's very difficult to juggle my own bills and hers. She has applied for short term disability, but it will be a few months before she is approved. She desperately needs help to stay in her home where she can continue to heal. Please help my daughter during this crisis. All donations received will go towards her living expenses. She hopes to be back to work in 3 to 6 months. She had just started a new job on December 23rd. She was working with autistic women that are learning how to be independent and live and work in our society. She absolutely loves her job, and she is looking forward to returning to work. She's afraid for what the future holds, but she's a survivor. She'll never give up. Please help with any amount possible. My daughter will "pay it forward." She is a caring person that would help a stranger. Unfortunately, that empathy backfired the night she stopped to ask a homeless man if he was okay.
