Support Temitayo's Fight Against Leukemia
Donation protected
It was only a couple of weeks ago that I was on the phone with my sister, Yewande, and my brother-in-law, Travis, watching my nephew, Temitayo, play with his toys and watch Cars. Temi was his usual energetic self. Later, Temi went for a routine check-up where the doctors indicated he had low red-blood-cell count. After further testing, Temi was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.
Temi started chemotherapy treatment this past week, and will undergo these treatments over the course of several months at the hospital. My nephew is young....only two years old. As you can imagine while terrifying at any age, being in the hospital by himself is something my sister and brother in law can't do. Yewande works as a surgeon and Travis as an auditor; he will be taking time off so that they have someone with Temi at all times. Additionally, they will be relying on family to help with support at the bedside during this time.
Temi is such a kind, joyful boy who loves playing with his cars, blowing kisses, and reading his favorite book, Room on the Broom. His parents, Yewande and Travis are two of the most loving and selfless people I know, and I want to ask our community of friends and family to rally around them during this incredibly difficult time.
We need your help. I have set up this GoFundMe to raise the funds needed to cover Temi’s medical bills, travel expenses, and Yewande and Travis's time off work. Any contribution, no matter how small, will go directly towards ensuring that Temi gets the best care possible and that his parents can be with him throughout this battle.
We understand that times are tough for everyone, and we deeply appreciate any support you can offer, whether it's a donation or simply sharing our story. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being part of our support system.
