Support Teone's Family in Their Time of Loss
Donation protected
My daughter Teone Mercedes Jones was a victim of a horrible crime that took her life and attempted to take the lives of her two oldest sons. This horrible incident left my two oldest grandsons without either parent. There father tragically died when he was only 30 years old. My three grandsons are great little people and I want to keep trying to make their life as close to normal as that can look like. I appreciate all the donations that have been given. There are many expenses associated with loss and raising three young children. Each donation regardless of size has been greatly appreciated. The heart warming messages have meant the world. Sorry that I haven't responded to each, just know they are read and mean more than words can express. Everyone asks what they can do or if I need anything. My request is that everyone share the link to this go fund me. This will not only keep my daughters name and story alive but assist in any expenses that may arise. Thank you again!

My daughter’s name is Teone’ Mercedes Jones. Teone’ was an amazing, beautiful, funny, witty, talented human being from the moment she was born! She was an emergency delivery and later developed jaundice which made her skin appear yellow causing her grandma Agnes to nick name her the "Golden Nugget" which later shortened to Nugget. My baby dreamed big, beginning with esthetician school and quickly reverting to cosmetology school. I remember how honored I was that she followed my footsteps in this way knowing how talented she was and that she could of became anything she dreamed of. Teone’ performed great during cosmetology school at Kaskaskia College, winning many awards and recognitions, which made everyone in her family extremely proud. I know within my heart she knew how amazing she was as well, although she would never admit out loud that her mommy, as she called me, influenced her. She worked at a few different salons telling me funny stories about each, the most recent being Tricoci Salon and Spa in Oak Brook. Even after Teone’ relocated back to Chicago from Lombard she refused to relocate to a salon closer, telling me regardless of the drive she loved her peers and her clients. Teone’ was recently taking classes at the Illinois Media School downtown Chicago and was looking forward to graduating in May. She really enjoyed going to school and spoke highly about her experience there. My baby had so many dreams and aspirations. Teone’ became a mother for the first time in 2013 with the birth of Darrius, then Tristan, and finally Maddox. I was honored to be present for the first two deliveries but COVID prevented me from being there for the third but I know she did amazing! These three amazing young men made my baby the happiest mother. She would have done anything in the world to protect them, guide them, and to teach them to know their worth and to always strive for greatness. My baby was quiet but when she did speak, she had a lot to say. My baby loved to journal, she loved astrology, she loved her children, she loved her family, and and she never lost the hope of a bright future. She will be so desperately missed by her family, her babies, her friends and most of all me her mommy. What has happened is beyond words and simply unfathomable. The outpouring of thoughts and prayers has been overwhelming. Thank you for everyone who has extended yourself to our family. Teone would be very happy to know how many lives she truly touched. Thank you from the depths of my heart. Hug your babies, you don’t know what tomorrow holds, cherish today as tomorrow is never promised.
