Support Terri's Battle Against Cancer

- My name is Karen and I am raising money for Terri Caldwell Medlin, my sister in law. (My sister). Terri was widowed 6 years ago when we lost my brother to cancer. Now she herself is experiencing a horrible sickness and needs our help. Let's start with sharing Terri's Journey and it has been a fast pace whirlwind of sickness! Her journey started with her experiencing a lot of abdominal pain since early December. She went to the hospital emergency and a small mass was found in her transverse intestine. She was scheduled for a colonoscopy and other scans for February 7th. The pain intensified and caused her physical sickness. On February 1st, she returned to ER and was admitted to the hospital and subsequently scheduled for an emergency colonoscopy due to the mass growing rapidly. Results revealed she had 2 masses in different regions, one being very large with a pinhole opening leaving no ability for anything to pass. Biopsy came back as both masses were cancerous. Surgery was immediately scheduled for February 14th. Terri was blessed to have one of the best surgeons and he was able to remove the large mass successfully. They were not able to remove the second one during this surgery; it appeared to be in the muscle wall. She was released with oncology appointments set to schedule next steps for the second mass and for further treatment. Surgical follow up on February 28th revealed stage 2 cancer for the large mass that was removed, the remaining mass being Stage 3. An Oncology appointment came and she was scheduled for 6 months of chemo and radiation. She then was scheduled for a biopsy for the second mass and was blessed that they removed the entire mass and diagnosis for the second mass was changed to being a polyp. Terri's radiation and chemo therapy was changed but the treatment is still very intense. She underwent first treatment on April 2nd. Went fairly well but experienced a reaction that left her left side of face numb. She had to have an IV of Benadryl to counter react the reaction. She has experienced some dehydration and nausea, normal side effects of treatment. Terri has not worked since January 30th. Bills still continue to come in. She has applied for disability but was advised it could take up to 6 months for approval, if approved. We ask for any donations, even the smallest. She has been blessed that diagnosis and prognosis are better than initially thought. Now let us bless her with prayer, love, support and monetary donations.
