Support Terry and Bruce's Journey Back to Family

Most of you know our parents, Bruce & Terry McPherson and their love of music and travel. Recently they were in Ireland for the Wild Ponies 10th annual Trail Ride. Unfortunately, at the end of the fabulous trip, our mother fell ill. It was severe enough that she has been hospitalized for the last month abroad. Our father has been by her side the whole time, trying to navigate life in Ireland all the while trying to coordinate doctors and treatments. She has worked tirelessly trying to get better so that she can come home to the rest of her family.
Our mom has come a long way since falling ill, but there is still a long road ahead for her. One of those hurdles has been trying to get both of them home to Nashville so that she can finish the healing process. Unfortunately, as she is not mobile right now, they have had to resort to taking a private medical air flight, which is very expensive.
Mom and Dad have never been the kind of people to ask for help from anyone. Quite contrary to that, they have always been the first to offer a helping hand. Whether it be helping an artist friend of theirs raise money for their next album, supporting anyone and everyone by hosting events, or even offering their home to anyone needing a place to lay their head, they have always been there for everyone.
It's now our turn to help them. Their dear friends, Doug and Telisha, of the Wild Ponies have best put into words how our parents best embody the giving spirit. Listen to their words and how you can help in any way possible:
I believe in community. I have seen the power of it. Just last month, I was one of 42 folks who traveled to Ireland as part of our 10th Annual Wild Ponies Trail Ride. Terry and Bruce McPherson have been a part of the Trail Ride for 6 years, and since the moment that we first met, we’ve known them to be a part of our village, our circle. We’ve played concerts in their home in Napa, drank cocktails in their home in Nashville, laughed and cried over good, then even better songs. This trail ride was epic. It was magical at every turn, and believe me, there were some TIGHT turns. Toward the end of the adventure, Terry started feeling ill and developed a significant amount of pain. This ended up taking a quick and scary turn into Sepsis, and she’s been in a hospital in Dublin, Ireland since June 26th. Bruce remains at The Castle Hotel within walking distance to the hospital. As you can imagine, it’s been a time. Terry is making good progress, and for this, we are so grateful. We, as her family and community, want her to be able to continue her recovery in Nashville, as we think this will be best for her, her family, and her circle of friends. It could be SEVERAL more weeks before Terry is able to travel on her own two feet, navigating all the airport shenanigans, so this is going to require a private, medical transport from Ireland back to Nashville. That’s why we’re reaching out to you.
Terry and Bruce are “salt-of-the-earth” people. They are generous supporters of artists in so many ways. Hell, they’re listed smack dab in the middle of our upcoming release, thanks to their generous support. Now, it’s time to turn our support toward them. We want to bring Terry and Bruce home. Ireland is amazing, and I am certain that Bruce will never tire of Guinness, but Terry will heal better if she’s closer to friends and family, where she can have snuggles from her sweet girls and adorable grandson. Bruce will be a better partner in Terry’s healing if he can sleep in his own bed. Terry will require an accompanied medical transport to get back to Nashville more quickly, and that expense will be great. Spread over a community of generous friends, it will be manageable. That’s how it works. We lean in, and together we accomplish great things. We can move mountains.
Here’s how you can help:
1. Donate: Any contribution, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated and will go directly toward the medical transportation costs.
2. Share: Please share this campaign with your network to spread the word. The more people who know about this, the greater the chance we have to reach our goal.
3. Support: When they ARE home, reach out to provide a meal or a visit. Once Terry is healed, meet them out at a show to support one of their many artist friends.
We can’t thank you enough for supporting these efforts in any way that you are able. We can’t wait to have Terry back on the front row of a show, singing our songs back to us.
