Support Terry Atkinson's Fight Against Cancer

Terry Atkinson, affectionately known to his grandchildren as "Yah Yah", has several nicknames. Some know him as "Cuzzin Bad", others call him "Uncle Lucy", and in his band-playing days, he was "Bad Eye". He doesn't care what name you call him, as long as you call him for supper! Friday night guitar sessions are a staple on his Facebook page, and we look forward to them every week.

But Terry started having headaches a few months ago and he finally broke down and went to the emergency room. After being transferred to Phoebe Putney hospital in Albany for a hospital stay, more tests, and a biopsy, he was eventually diagnosed with Maxillary Adenocarcinoma. According to the doctors it is aggressive, but we all know he is stronger than cancer! The doctors say he needs an intensive 12-hour surgery to remove the tumor and reconstruct part of his face. This will be followed by several weeks of recovery, radiation treatments and possibly chemotherapy.

He will fight this disease but he needs an army behind him to help with the expenses so he can concentrate on his treatment and recovery. He has already had several appointments and has many more coming soon in Atlanta. The cost of travel, hotels, and meals alone are overwhelming and that is before considering medical bills and regular household bills. I hope you can find it in your heart to help lift my Uncle Terry up. No amount is too small.
