Thamesmead Community Choir are a vibrant group of local voices celebrating connection, creativity, and community spirit that started in June 2024. Bringing together the locals and even non residents of all ages and backgrounds, TCC sings to uplift, empower, and strengthen the heart of Thamesmead.

Thamesmead Community Choir is a growing collective of local residents who come together each week to celebrate the power of music, creativity, and community connection. Rooted in inclusivity and wellbeing, TCC provides a welcoming space for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to express themselves through song. The ideation of Thamesmead Community Choir stems from the original project “Hometown Pride” originated by Julia Hein, Jecoliah Frimpong & Jamie Zubiari alongside Kei the Artist and Riordan Tyson on media.

Through workshops, performances and shared moments, the choir aims to strengthen bonds across Thamesmead and amplify the voices of the community.

Your funds will support the continued creative facilitation and developmental maintenance of TCC’s growth as we have operated on a termly basis that has previously been funded through grants awarded via application and dedication to the project being strategised through one person. As each booking received by TCC enables each participant to be equally remunerated the fees become imbalanced but we believe in giving back to people.

Your funds will allow for a stable (voluntary) team to be able to delegated upon, handling TCC tasks appropriately and efficiently. This leaves room for deeper involvement for participants through focused exploration and experiences that enhance what our TCC team/leadership will have exposure to in future. This includes access, exposure & self supported projects such as; recordings, distributions, outreach and even expenses for mere access to music industrial and creative spaces. Not to mention the finalisation of our overdue official webpage.
