Help my friend Alah & his family evacuate Gaza

Donation protected
Hello, Alah is a 14 year old boy from Gaza who has been forcibly displaced along with his parents and 5 siblings, with his youngest sibling being only 6 years old.

His and his family’s lives have been completely turned upside down since the brutal onslaught lead by the Israeli military since October 2023.

This campaign was started to help support and sustain the AbuRayda family during these difficult times.

The family of 8 were originally displaced from their home to a UN school, but they couldn’t find the safety they were looking for. They had no choice but to move once again, and have now taken refuge in a tent camp along the Rafah border.

With the planned ground invasion on Rafah, evacuation is now their best chance of survival, but fees of crossing the border can range anywhere between 2 to £10,000. For that reason the previous goal of £5000 has been raised to £25,000.

The Rafah border; 1.7 million internally displaced people on one side, and an expanse of desert on the other. Yet it costs £10,000 to get through.

The father of the family, Bassem, is in need of surgery to correct his left shoulder. During the 2018 attack on Gaza, their home was severely damaged, and in attempt to fix his family home was electrocuted from a high level. The shock threw him to the ground and nails- that are still there- pierced his shoulder giving him excruciating pain and inflammation.

The injury means he has a limited range of motion and is unable to care for his family at full capacity. However with all remaining hospitals in Gaza all destroyed, Bassem desperately needs to evacuate to get surgery abroad.

With nothing but the clothes on their backs, the family are in desperate need of funds to obtain food, clean drinking water, medical supplies and safe housing.

Your donations are crucial in ensuring they have access to these necessities. If you cannot donate for any reason, please consider sharing the link to this campaign.

A prayer from 14 year old Alah AbuRayda:
“Ya Allah, grant us great luck in Gaza and choose for us the last of the destinies of this world. Oh God, show us relief in everything our wild people want. Allahummaa, the beautiful reward after a long patience. Allahumma ameen, a path that does not narrow life, and a heart that does not lose hope. Lord, plant in our hearts lasting comfort and hope that does not disappoint, ya rabb al alameen.”

The struggle to get water, the most basic of essentials, which all humans have a right to.

No place is safe in Gaza, remnants of IOF missiles are discarded everywhere.

Despite all the hardship, Alah still has the resilience to smile.

There are worries that many people are using the war on Gaza an opportunity to gain money on false grounds. I can assure you, this isn’t the case with the AbuRaydas, who are living every moment in this catastrophe. They have proved their legitimacy with IDs and medical reports, not to mention we have been keeping in touch since before the assault.

This campaign was organised by Kübra Yildirim, an artist based in the UK. The money raised is sent to a bank in Jordan, which Bassem then withdraws through an office in Rafah 3 hours from the encampment. If you have any further questions you can find Kübra on Instagram @kubrafineart
