Support the Adams Family's New Beginning

One of the hardest things to witness after a major storm is the toll it takes on families and individuals. News reports often provide only a brief glimpse of the damage—destroyed homes and blocked roads—but the real impact goes much deeper. This is the first time I've personally experienced such devastation, as my parents went through it. They wisely evacuated before Hurricane Helene, but when they returned to their cherished little home by the water, they were met with heartbreak. Their home had been flooded with over four feet of seawater and is now a total loss.

Over the past week, we've sifted through their belongings, managing to save a few things, though far from enough to meet their daily needs. They haven’t received any financial assistance yet, despite facing numerous expenses—all on a fixed income. We are now in the process of relocating them to my father’s birthplace, Chipley, Florida. Thankfully, the Adams family is stepping up with love and support to help them establish a temporary home. My Dad, the eldest of five, is surrounded with the love and support of my incredible Aunts and Uncles who are ready to help in any way they can.

That said, our 86 year old parents are in dire need of so much—clothing, appliances, household items, and more. Their lives have been turned upside down, and they are the most loving, supportive people, and I hope the community can support them as they navigate this heartbreak.
