Kari, Rich (Chardo), Maison and Makenzie lost their home in the Lahaina Fire.

Kari is a hardworking mom who volunteers for everything and helps Lahaina nonprofits. Even though she has a full-time job and two kids, she gives a lot of her time and energy to the community. I know Kari from volunteering with her at the Lahaina Swim Club. She has been a treasurer at the swim club for a decade, working behind the scenes to make sure all Lahaina keiki ages 5-18 have a safe and nurturing place where they can learn how to swim! Rich, who is known as Chardo, is a hardworking father who loves to spend his time with his family and their faithful pup Tank.

Maison and Makenzie are brilliant, vibrant, fun twins who excel in academics and sports. They both received full academic scholarships after graduating from Lahainaluna this year! Maison is a star swimmer at Lahaina Swim Club and Lahainaluna. He won multiple championships on the state level! He also played volleyball for the school. He dances the hula and works 3 part-time jobs. Makenzie is a star athlete who trained and competed in 3 sports: softball, soccer, and volleyball, excelling in all of them while also working multiple part-time jobs.

This wonderful hardworking family, who is a huge part of the Lahaina community, has lost everything in a matter of minutes. They didn’t have time to prepare or pack anything. Thankfully, they escaped from their home before it was consumed by the fiery hurricane that claimed hundreds of lives and destroyed thousands of properties.

They are currently staying at the Sands of Kahana room 356. The Alexander family needs your support! All the money raised will go to Kari and her family to rebuild their lives on Maui!
