Beloveds!
Our family needs yours.
We need to move when our lease is up in April.
Currently, we live in a house full of mold. It's so bad that it's making all of us sick. Specifically, Lucien can't breathe. They're having asthma attacks several times a day.
Also, Sarah has a nearly unbearable increase in pain, fatigue, and brain fog.
Greg also has had an increase in pain, confusion, and mood instability.
These are all symptoms of mold toxicity.
Also, we need to be somewhere safer than we are now. Our legislature in Michigan recently turned red. Our state voted for Trump, and our governor's term is up in 2026. We are afraid that the legislation against trans and disabled people will only get worse.
It doesn't help that we haven't made many friends and are very isolated here. We need a broader support system than we have now.
As we have to get rid of most of our things anyway—because of the mold—it seems like the perfect time to move to a safer state—one with family, with a trans and disability-friendly legislature, and with weather more suitable for chronic illness.
We'd like to move to California to be with family. That's pretty expensive—$8000. But even if we stay here, it's going to be expensive to move—$5000. If we're able to camp in California for the first month or two, it's only $3000-4000.
Help will go towards covering application fees, deposits, a trailer rental, and other such fees.
