Support the Allmon Family

Hello Friends and Family,
As some of you might already know, our 3 year old son, Grayson was diagnosed with epilepsy 16 months ago. We’ve been able to navigate this difficult journey with an outpouring of support and love from so many people. We are so thankful to you all. Grayson has two kinds of seizures with his epilepsy: grand mal (convulsive) and atonic (drop) seizures. Through continual trial and error, we have gone through a variety of medications to try and control these seizures. Unfortunately these medications do cause an immune deficiency.

At the end of September, just a couple days after Grayson’s third birthday, we had to rush him and our 16 month old son, Hayes, to the emergency room. They had both contracted Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). RSV is a respiratory infection that can severely impact oxygen intake especially for very young children, and like Grayson, children with weakened immune systems. Hayes was able to leave after two nights in the hospital. Grayson was there for a total of four nights and on continual oxygen.
While this was a very scary experience, we were so happy that we were able to bring both boys home healthy.
Unfortunately, having both children hospitalized and two parents out of work did cause a financial strain for us.

Last week, Grayson was struck with a high fever and low energy.
Because our oldest child, Jayce is in school, we’re pretty used to some viruses coming home and going through the family.
We took our normal preventative measures and we called our physician to stay on top of things. Unfortunately, Grayson just seemed to be getting worse and worse. His fever would not break, and he refused to eat and did not have energy to get out of bed.
Once again, we decided to bring Grayson into the emergency room. During intake they found his oxygen levels low, his fever high and that he was very dehydrated. He was pretty quickly admitted into the hospital again. He tested negative for RSV and COVID but did test positive for influenza. The medical staff theorized that his lungs were damaged when he had RSV and that is why this was hitting him so hard.
Unfortunately, they also found that he has a blood infection as well. Grayson is being very well taken care of, he’s on oxygen and heavy doses of antibiotics and being constantly monitored.
We are so grateful for the medical staff and so touched for everyone that has reached out to us. We are unsure how long this hospital stay will be and are only focus right now is Grayson’s health.

We are asking now for any support to relieve the financial burden this will cause. Because one of us will need to be home with the other children and one of us will need to be here with Grayson, we will both be out of work. And of course, there will be the medical expenses as well.

We can’t thank you all enough.
All The Love,
Sean and Stephanie Allmon
