Support the Appeal AGAINST this Solar Farm on Greenbelt Land
Donation protected
Fillongley Parish Council need YOU! We are seeking to raise funds to pay for Planning and Legal expertise to represent the Parish at the Appeal against a proposed solar farm of nearly 150 acres on greenbelt farmland in our Parish. The area of the proposal is superceded onto a map of the village to show the scale. It is contrary to NWBC Policies and our Local Neighbourhood Plan. It will be visible from (at least) Coventry Road, Meriden Road, Far Parks, Sandy Lane, Green End Road. FPC are not against solar power but believe that the "Best and Most Versatile" farmland in the Green Belt is not the place to put it.
The concern is if we lose this Appeal, the flood gates will be opened to developers looking to put more of these sites on our farmland in the green belt – this is not just a problem on our doorstep but could be coming to your Parish too. Whilst we all appreciate the need for energy security, FPC do not believe it should be at the cost of our food security, or the loss of our historic landscape or the settings of our local heritage.
