Support The Art of Resilience and WEAVE
Donation protected
Bonjour All!
In just over a month I will be traveling to the Thai-Burma border to film with nonprofit, WEAVE. For over thirty years, the Karen and Karenni people have been displaced by a horrific war, and for thirty years, WEAVE has been a beacon of light in the darkness. Through action-based educational programs and their Fair Trade social enterprise, WEAVE bolsters its cornerstone developmental goals; women’s economic empowerment and education for empowerment.
I am honored to say that I will be featuring WEAVE as the second nonprofit for my project. The Art of Resilience gives voice and a platform to indigenous female artists around the globe that are transforming their lives through art. It is educational, inspirational, and a call to action to invest in conscious consumerism and our sisterhood across the seas. I am seeking funding for the field production costs as I will be volunteering my time. In addition, all harvested materials will be provided to WEAVE for their promotional use.
For more information about WEAVE's holistic approach to empowering refugee women and children, please visit an article I wrote for Philanthropy Journal last March: https://philanthropyjournal.com/weave.
As the daughter of a Hungarian refugee, I was fortunate enough to have a front-row seat, to a lifelong pursuit of resiliency. I see this same resiliency, strength and resourcefulness in WEAVE's women and children. I ask for your support in elevating their voices, histories, cultures, and art.
However you are able, I thank you for your support!
PS - and that's Ta Publication's beautiful photography on the cover of this! Thank you Ta=)
