Thank you all for your enthusiasm and excitement for the launch of The Arts & Justice Collective!
We have been given a once in a lifetime opportunity to create something extremely special and unique on the Cape – an opportunity to bring people together, to support and center our historically excluded communities, and to make Cape Cod a better, more equitable place to call home.
And when we say “we,” we mean all of us – this collective community. Your voice and your needs will be vital in helping to establish Hyannis’ first art, culture, and social justice hub. While we are at the very beginning of the planning phase, we envision this year-round, physical, collaborative community space will provide:
- a safe place for gathering, creating art, and holding programs and events,
- a space that rejects white supremacy and harmful colonialist narratives,
- a year-round vendor space for local BIPOC businesses and makers,
- an exhibition space for local artists from historically excluded communities, and
- a resource hub to meet community needs.
Many of you have reached out and asked how you can support the work being done. While the bulk of our expenses are being covered by our generous grantors, we still have some funding gaps. Your donations will:
- support our Collective programs (that are free to the public),
- go directly into the hands of our local artists and vendors participating in our Collective programs, and
- help support the steps to establish physical community space.
Please consider contributing to our general fundraising campaign, and thank you for all of your support! The Cordial Eye, a 501(c)(3) organization, is the fiscal agent for projects under The Arts & Justice Collective. Your contribution is tax-deductible.
