Support the Australia trial coverage by ersatz_cats

Howdy everyone! This is ersatz_cats, from perfectpacman.com. Thank you all so immensely for all the kind words about my write-ups on the Karl Jobst / Billy Mitchell trial!! I was not expecting such an overwhelming outpouring of support. I cannot fully express how much it warms my heart to know how much people care about these contributions, which I'm happy to continue offering, free-of-charge. (And don't worry, the trolls will never get me down, lol.)

I got so many questions asking where folks could donate money to help out with the costs of travel to Australia. I was not expecting so many people to want to contribute financially to the cause, or else I would have had something set up prior to my trip. So as I'm preparing to cover Day 6 of the resumed trial, I'm getting this GoFundMe started, so that people can have just such an outlet to assist the cause.

The costs for flight and lodging came out to a little over $3,000, so that's where I'm placing the goal. (I'm setting aside daily expenses like food and such as sunk costs.) I don't want to get into too many behind-the-scenes details at this time, but the primary money raised here will go directly to reimburse some amazing folks, who without their help my journey to Brisbane (and thus my coverage of the trial) would never have happened.

In the event that $3000 goal is reached, any surplus money raised will go directly toward paying site-costs for perfectpacman.com. That includes hosting and domain registration. You will notice the site does not have ads, is not monetized, and does not generate any revenue. The plan is for that never to change. It is strictly a passion project. To maintain that status, I will not personally keep any of the money raised through this fundraiser, nor will I spend it on unrelated personal expenses. However, since I am currently the one paying the site's yearly bills out of pocket, such excess donations will ease that obligation on myself, and I will be very appreciative of that.

Please do not feel like you have to donate. I'm not always in a position to donate to content creators whose work I appreciate either. I know that everyone's financial situation is different, and there are many good causes in the world, some of which involve much higher stakes than this. I offer this outlet for those fine folks who want it. My work on these cases will continue to be free-of-charge, regardless of anyone's ability to pay. Just please keep reading, and keep fighting for the truth.
