Support Ricks & His Family in Their Time of Need

Donation protected
This past weekend, a beloved family in our community faced unimaginable hardships that have shaken their lives to the core. Becky, a devoted mother of three (and expecting their fourth!), traveled to Cedar City with her children to visit with family while her husband, Steve, was away with students from Grantsville High School for an FFA event. Little did they know that their lives would be turned upside down in the blink of an eye.

Tragedy struck when their 3-year-old son, Ricks, was involved in a serious ATV accident that left him with critical injuries. He was life-flighted from Cedar City to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, where he has since received urgent medical care. As any parent would, Steve immediately flew back home to be by his son’s side, with Becky and Steve taking turns at the hospital to support their brave little boy.

While this family was already reeling from Ricks’ accident, another heartbreaking event unfolded. Becky’s parents had traveled to Grantsville to help care for the couple’s other young children during this difficult time. Tragically, during the weekend, Becky’s mother suffered a devastating fall. She was rushed to the hospital, where she fought valiantly but sadly passed away from her injuries on October 28th. This loss has left an immense void in their lives, especially for Becky, who now must balance caring for Ricks as he recovers, meeting the needs of her other small children, and navigating her own grief.

Steve is not only a dedicated husband and father; he is an Ag teacher and FFA advisor at Grantsville High School, actively serving his community. He has also led as the President of the Tooele County Stock Show for the past two years, inspiring the next generation of leaders and fostering a love for agriculture. Becky, equally devoted, is a loving mother who has always prioritized her children’s well-being and happiness.

Now, as they face staggering medical bills from Ricks’ accident and the emotional burden of their loss, the Babbitt family needs our support more than ever. They have selflessly given so much to our community; now it’s our turn to lift them up during this incredibly difficult time.

Let’s come together as a community to show our love and support for the Babbitts. No family should endure such heartache alone. Please consider donating to their GoFundMe page and sharing their story. Your kindness can make a real difference in their lives. Thank you for your generosity and support.
