Support the Baker Family in Their Time of Need

Donation protected
Hi everyone! My name is Heather Byram, and I would like to ask for your help in supporting my two nieces in this time of need. As many of you know there was tragic accident that occurred on Saturday, October 26th that left Makayla Mallory (Baker) in critical condition at John Hopkins IUC and Madison Mallory (Baker) tragically passed at the scene. These two young girls were/are 16-year-old twins who were/are Juniors at Clarke County High School. From what the family has been told so far is that there were a total of four people in the vehicle at the time of the accident, one of the twin girls was riding in the front passenger seat while the other one was behind her in the back. The vehicle was found in a ditch on fire. It is unclear how the three out of the four were able to escape the flaming vehicle while one was trapped inside.

We are asking for donations to help with funeral expenses as well as medical. Any amount is appreciated. I will provide more updated information as we receive more details from the family.

Please know that your messages are making it through to the family, and they appreciate the care and prayers. Please continue to keep the Baker family in your thoughts and prayers.

October 28th: Update from Becky Baker (grandmother): "She endured a 7-8 hour surgery yesterday. From what they can tell it was a success. They were able to repair the fracture in her back, leg, and arm. They started bringing her out of sedation to make sure she is responsive and she is which is a fantastic sign. She was able to answer questions by moving her head. Today (10/28) they will repair her fractured orbital and reconstruct her eyelid. They plan to start waking her up tomorrow. Thank you all for your messages of support. We appreciate every single one. Jamie (Makayla's mother) is staying with her and we will be traveling back and forth as much as possible. Please keep the prayers coming for Makayla. She is going to need them. I know she will be devastated to learn about Maddi. The two of them shared an incredible bond as only twins could."

October 29th: Update from Becky Baker (grandmother): “Makayla’s eye surgery is complete and went well. AND THEY REMOVED HER BREATHING TUBE! SHE IS BREATHING ON HER OWN! I can’t tell you what a relief this is. Now begins the process of waking her up and evaluating her TBI. Thank you again to everyone for your support! Our family is eternally grateful. ❤️ Updated to add we just heard from Mackenzie that she is talking! She asked for food, water and chapstick! ❤️”
