Support the bird man of Hartlepool

Hi, my name is Paula and I am raising funds for my Dad the bird man of Hartlepool, who faces the magistrates court on 17th December 2024. Since then he as been to court and faces a trial on 1st April 2025. The money raised will be paying for solicitor, his campaign and a possible fine at the end of it. As the photo shows he is elderly and only as his pension coming in.

He is going to trial next year.

It is a worrying time.

At the heart of our community lives a man who is a friend to all, especially the birds. Brian, a man reminiscent of the beloved Dr. Doolittle, has dedicated his life to the wellbeing of our local wildlife. His actions reflect a deep respect and compassion for nature, feeding birds regularly for the simple joy of nourishing life in our surroundings. Despite being a force for good, Brian now finds himself in distress, the target of a legal battle wrongly accusing him of encouraging rats in the area.

This wrongful accusation neglects the fact that rats naturally abound in most urban settings, regardless of human actions. A study from the University of Reading suggests that there is one rat for every person in urban areas. Brian's actions of feeding birds have no specific bearing on this pre-existing issue. The case maligns Brian's kindness and ardor for our shared environment, disrupting his peace and the positive impact he has on our local ecology.
