Support The Bitler Family
Donation protected
It is with reluctance that I create this GoFundMe, but it has become quintessential to do so given our recent circumstance.
On Wednesday September 21st, what was supposed to be a leisure afternoon golf outing with a friend; turned into a devastating family emergency. Jarred and his friend from work were driving in a golfcart on the 5th hole. Jarred was in the passenger seat when the driver took a corner too fast. The golf cart proceeded to flip and roll, crushing Jarred in the process.
Jarred was unable to move or get up so an ambulance was called. Jarred was taken to Putnam County Hospital. A CT scan was taken there revealing that Jarred had sustained internal trauma along with three fractures and a break in his pelvis. Due to the extent of his injuries he was transfered to a Hospital in Connecticut with a trauma unit. He was admitted the evening of 9/21 to Danbury Hospital where he stayed until the following weekend.
Jarred is currently home and making slow progress in his recovery. After following up with an orthopedic surgeon we were relieved to find out that he didn't need surgery. The orthopedist did however state this was going to be a long arduous recovery process. It will be at least four weeks before Jarred is able to begin physical therapy and rehabilitation. He will be out of work for the next 3 to 4 months. (Tennative start date of January 1st.)
That being said, medical bills are starting to roll in. Medical bills, coupled with the loss of income have already begun to put us into a financial crisis. It is with a humble heart that I request assistance to keep our family afloat during these trying times. Any assistance is greatly appreciated as we were a one-income household. I am grateful to have health insurance, however it is not the greatest. Jarred will only be receiving 50% of his pay as per his short term disability contract. These facts into account will make us financially incapacitated for the foreseeable future.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for those who have brought us meals, medical equipment and encouragement. We are forever grateful to our tribe ❤️.
