The word Ninja is associated with excellence and perseverance. The Ninja was synonymous in Japan with the highest level of skill and feats that were almost superhuman. Sensei Devin embodies the Ninja in every way. Having been diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa; a degenerative eye disease that left him blind he was left with two choices:
1. To be defined by his situation or
2. To blaze a new path
Sensei Devin chose to blaze a new path and decided he would take his nearly 20 years of martial art experience and share it with the world. He is known as the “Blind Ninja.” Sensei Devin runs a non-profit organization and is starting up a program for sighted, non-sighted and visually impaired students.
The goal of Sensei Devin’s “Third Eye Insight” program is to empower students with and without disabilities. For over the last ten years he has been providing his Third Eye Insight students with yoga classes, meditation, and self-defense classes. In addition, he has launched a Recreational Fitness Program to include kayaking, fishing, skiing, and horseback riding to name a few. These activities are essential for students who need an outlet to live their lives to the fullest.
Sensei Devin Fernandez is raising funds to help launch and market his newest program to a wider audience, and to help those in need of assistance. We need help from compassionate individuals who want to assist us in keeping this program alive and growing. But it cannot start without donations from people such as you. Even a few dollars would help us make this dream a reality. Our goal is $5000.
