Hello everyone,

My name is Will Wise, and I’m a former professional basketball player, now turned coach in London. I’m also a proud Media Ambassador for Cancer Research UK and a Stage 4 cancer patient. Despite my diagnosis, I’ve been determined to live with cancer, not just fight it, and to use my journey to inspire, educate, and empower others.

In 2023, I founded #CancerBae, a movement that has since garnered over 16 million impressions online, becoming a platform for hope, love, and support for those navigating the cancer journey. My mission? To change the narrative surrounding cancer—replacing fear and silence with courage, openness, and community.

Now, I’m taking this mission to new heights with The CancerBae Classic 2025, an event that unites my passions for basketball, health education, and social impact.

What Is The CancerBae Classic 2025?

The CancerBae Classic is a global youth basketball series that is far more than just a basketball tournament—it’s a movement. This youth National Invitational Basketball Tournament(s) will take place in Summer 2025 and aims to:

Provide elite youth basketball teams across the UK a platform to showcase their talent in a prestigious, professionally run tournament.

Raise awareness about cancer and promote health education among young athletes and their communities.

Foster inclusion by empowering underrepresented groups, including young girls and children with disabilities, to see themselves in the world of basketball.

Why We Need Your Support

The 2024 CancerBae Classic was a groundbreaking success, bringing together teams, families, and supporters from across the country. In 2025, we’re dreaming even bigger. With plans to expand the event’s reach and impact, we need your help to:

Enhance the Event Experience: From venue rentals and state-of-the-art equipment to live-streaming capabilities, we want this event to be a showcase of professionalism and inspiration.

Support Participating Teams: Help us provide affordable accommodation options and logistical support to ensure that no team is left behind due to financial constraints.
