Hello everyone,

My name is Will Wise, and I’m a former professional basketball player, now turned basketball coach in London. I’m also a current stage 4 cancer patient and a proud cancer awareness advocate. Despite my diagnosis, I’ve been on a mission to help change the stigma associated with cancer to be more about living with cancer, and not just fighting it, or battling it. I use my own cancer journey to help inspire, educate, and empower others.

In 2023, I founded #CancerBae, a movement that has since garnered over 16 million impressions online, becoming a platform for hope, love, and support for those navigating through their cancer journey. In 2024 I founded CancerBae*, a new age charity focused on helping and creating community for those who've gone through, going through, or going to go through a cancer journey. My mission? To change the narrative surrounding cancer, replacing fear, silence and uncertainty with courage, openness, hope and community.

I’m now taking this mission to new heights with the 2025 CancerBae Classics, an event that unites my passions for basketball, health education, social impact and cancer advocacy.

What Is the 2025 CancerBae Classics? (Great Question!)

The CancerBae Classic is a global youth basketball series that blends youth sports with cancer awareness and is far more than just a basketball tournament, it’s a movement. This global youth basketball series will take place twice in the Summer of 2025 first, June 13 - 15 at the Hun School of Princeton in Princeton, New Jersey which will feature the best U16 & U18 boys and girls teams from across the UK, US, and Europe and the second August 28 - 31st at The University of Essex in Colchester, United Kingdom which will feature the best U12 boys and girls that the UK has to offer!

The 2025 CancerBae Classics aim to:

Provide elite youth basketball teams from across the UK, US and Europe a platform to showcase their talent in a prestigious, professionally run tournament. It will also raise awareness about cancer and promote health education among young athletes and their communities. As well as foster inclusion by empowering underrepresented groups, including young girls and children with disabilities, to see themselves in the world of basketball.

Enhance the Event Experience:

From venue rentals and state-of-the-art equipment to live-streaming capabilities, we want this event to be a showcase of professionalism and inspiration.

Support Participating Teams:

Help us provide affordable accommodation options and logistical support to ensure that no team is left behind due to financial constraints.

Fund Community Initiatives:

A portion of the event's proceeds will go directly to help fund cancer awareness workshops, cancer education programs, family and emotional support aid, and community outreach activations, helping to build a borderless support community for those in need during their moments of fear, anxiousness, uncertainty, and loneliness, during their cancer journeys.

£12,000 Goal: Cover event costs, help provide team accommodations and logistical support and donate a portion of proceeds to help support those affected by cancer and their families and building a lasting legacy by supporting innovative youth basketball programs and raising awareness about cancer in a way that reaches across generations.
