Please support the Chiltepes Chilerxs project Cooking Tour 2024!

The 2024 Cooking Tour is an opportunity for us to connect with each other, address our questions of identity and connect with our counterparts in our homeland through cooking workshops with Ramona, the president of DESGUA and head chef at La RED! She will be traveling to the United States to meet our community and allow us to connect through ancestral food practices. We hope you will be able to join us, but if not, please consider donating to make this tour a reality!

We invite you all to contribute to our fundraising campaign so that we can make this Cooking Tour a reality. By contributing, you will fund our ground transportation in each city, the costs of the workshop ingredients and the costs to reserve a community space to carry out the workshop.

The dates and locations for the Cooking Tour are as follows:
Austin, TX: October 2 & 3.
Portland, OR: October 5 & 6.
Bay Area, CA: October 8 & 9.
Los Angeles, CA: October 12 & 13.

Who is overseeing the Chiltepes Chilerxs Project?

This project is a branch of DESGUA (Desarrollo Sostenible en Guatemala), a community organization in Guatemala that works towards cultivating the "Guatemala dream" by promoting local social entrepreneurship projects meant to mitigate the need to migrate. Since 2008, DESGUA has started several initiatives to achieve the Guatemalan dream, we invite you to check out our website, as well as @lared.gt on IG to learn more about the initiatives.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about this project, for believing in our work and for supporting us! Please donate, share and spread the word about this project.
