Support the Citadel Boxing Club

We are the official Boxing Club of the Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. From the 1970's all the way up to 2009, the Citadel boasted one of the best NCBA collegiate boxing teams in the country. The school routinely boxed in national tournaments against West Point, the Naval Academy, the Air Force Academy, and VMI and hosted numerous fights on campus. In 2009, however, the school deemed the sport unnecessarily dangerous to cadets (despite head gear and olympic style fighting rules), and pulled sport funding and eventually banned the sport.
In January of 2021, after years of inactivity, the club was allowed to reform on the condition that the team was self-funded. Sponsored by former Citadel Boxing Head Coach (1990-2009) and SC Hall of Famer Michael Golemis, the Club boxes off-campus at Coach's gym (Hurricane Boxing) in James Island.
We are looking to raise roughly around $5,000 for club expenses which include team competition uniforms, travel expenses (all bouts are almost completely out of town), equipment expenses, and keeping the lights on at Coach Golemis' gym. Our first match is 6 weeks out and any little bit goes a long way towards keeping the club alive. Thanks!
