Support the Co-Director of Camp GLOW Grenada in her Recovery

Camp GLOW (Girls Leading Our World) is a transformative and empowering summer camp for young girls in the Eastern Caribbean island of Grenada. Camp GLOW Grenada provides a safe space for girls to learn and develop essential life skills, offering resources, mentorship, and opportunities to grow and thrive. Our shared mission has always been to nurture and empower. Today, we find ourselves asking for support from our local and international community in a new way.

Recently, our Co-Director, Ms. Chanda Stafford, has experienced a significant health challenge which has impacted her life tremendously. While pursuing her studies abroad in China, Chanda suffered a serious knee injury which involved dislocation, damaged ligaments, torn cartilage, and tissue damage. Chanda underwent major surgery – a procedure that was essential but has left her in need of post-surgery rehabilitation and treatment. This unexpected challenge has brought about a substantial financial burden. The road to recovery is long, and the costs are daunting.

We have always believed in the power of community, and now, we are reaching out to our global family – friends, allies, and previous beneficiaries of Camp GLOW Grenada – to help her through this difficult time. Your contributions will directly fund her post-surgery rehabilitation, enabling her to get back on her feet, and, most importantly, continue the vital work she does at the organization.

Chanda is not just the Co-Director of Camp GLOW Grenada, she is also a powerful and lifelong example of the profound impact this incredible organization can have. Years ago, she was on the other side of our programs as a camper who received support and empowerment through the programs we offered. Since then, she has risen through the ranks to lead alongside the team, giving back to GLOW and, by extension, other women in our communities. Beyond her volunteerism at the organization, Chanda dedicated her time in other community initiatives, such as the Youth Emergency Action Committee, which focuses on enhancing Grenada's resilience, beginning with our communities. Now, Chanda is in need of the community to support her.

We've faced challenges before and we know that determination and collective effort can overcome monumental obstacles. That is why we are confident that, with your support, we can help Chanda overcome this challenge.
