Support the CU Pickleball Club: Help Us Grow the Sport at the University of Colorado!

The CU Pickleball Club is committed to promoting and growing the sport of pickleball at the University of Colorado in Boulder. We are dedicated to providing a platform for students of all skill levels to come together, meet new people, improve their game, and even compete.

Short-Term Goal: Fostering a Thriving Pickleball Community at CU

At the CU Pickleball Club, our primary short-term goal is to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where players of all skill levels can come together, socialize, have fun and even improve their game. Whether a studen is a beginner just learning or a seasoned player looking to elevate playing skills, we want to ensure that everyone has access to opportunities to enjoy this wonderful sport.

We believe that pickleball is more than just a game—it's a community that fosters camaraderie, personal growth, and a shared love for the sport. Through regular practices and friendly competition, we aim to build a space where everyone can feel supported in their pickleball journey!

To fuel this passion and drive growth, we’ve launched a GoFundMe campaign to support our initiatives, including:

Organizing Social Events and Friendly Competitions: We aim to bring CU students together for pickleball practice, social events, and friendly, student-run competitions on and off campus. These gatherings provide a fun and supportive environment for players of all levels to connect, improve their skills, and enjoy the sport in a relaxed, low-pressure setting.

Purchasing High-Quality Equipment: As the sport continues to grow, so does the need for quality equipment. Funds raised will help us purchase paddles, balls, and other training tools that ensure all players have access to the right resources to improve their game.

Funding Travel to Competitions: For our competitive players, travel funding is essential for participating in regional and national tournaments. Your contributions will help cover some travel expenses, allowing our top athletes to showcase their skills and represent CU at the highest levels of collegiate pickleball.

Long-Term Goal: Establishing CU as a Leader in Competitive Collegiate Pickleball

We aim to become a competitive force within the National Collegiate Pickleball Association or NCPA, an organization dedicated to promoting and organizing collegiate pickleball across the United States. Established in January 2023, the NCPA has quickly expanded, connecting with over 200 universities and hosting events nationwide. Although pickleball is not yet an NCAA-sanctioned sport, the NCPA plays a crucial role by organizing events for club-based teams, making it possible for universities like ours to compete at a high level.

While NCAA sports are typically varsity programs, the NCPA operates with club teams, enabling collegiate athletes to engage in competitive pickleball. By focusing on skill development and fostering camaraderie among players, the NCPA helps to grow the sport while giving college students a chance to compete and excel. We are excited about the potential to join this vibrant community and push ourselves to the highest levels of competition.
